Preparing for the Weekend
This weekend includes time on the land, in the water, and in circle together. Some parts of the weekend may include traditional teachings and ceremony shared by those who have been invited to guide them.
You do not need any prior experience to participate. Everything will be explained as we move through the weekend, and you are always welcome to participate in ways that feel comfortable and respectful to you.
Tobacco Offerings
At certain points during the weekend we may offer tobacco to the water or land as a gesture of gratitude and respect.
If you are unfamiliar with this practice, guidance will be shared.
Sweat Lodge
Those who feel called may participate in the sweat lodge. The lodge is a space for reflection, release, and renewal. Guidance will be provided beforehand so everyone understands what to expect and how to prepare.
Participation is always optional.
Water Teachings & Swimming
During our paddle to the island there will be time to connect with the water and receive a teaching about its healing qualities. Some participants may choose to swim. Comfort levels vary and everyone is encouraged to honour their own boundaries.
Respect for Land and Circle
This gathering is built on the spirit of circle — where everyone is equal and respected. We ask participants to move through the weekend with care for:
• the land
• the water
• one another
• the teachings being shared
